Spam the ScamThursday, November 17, 2005Listening to Mylo - Ottos Journey
You know those 'phishing' emails we all get purporting to be from various banks and sometimes ebay, the ones where they ask you to click the link and fill in your security details to help them 'update their database', quite often it's from a bank you've never even heard of.
Well when you get something like that, click the link and fill out the form with some realistic looking fake details. Make up a bank account number etc. Do that a few times. If we fill their database with false details, it'll make it much harder for them to find the real details of the poor fools who fell for it!
It would of course be possible to write a programme to just bombard them with made up details, (which someone has probably done already) but we need to take the intiative to put a stop to these people!
If you want to read about some great ways of getting back at email scammers, have a look at this site http://www.419eater.com, make sure you check out the trophy room!
