I've heard that statistic a few times and I always thought what an amazing fact, but could it be true? So I stuck it into google and found this page. Turns out it couldn't be further from the truth, but did you know that the population of the roman empire in 14 A.D. was 45 million? And 84.2% of statistics are made up on the spot.
