Lovely to have met you, Jess - not often I get to meet a fledgeling t-girl millionaire-ess! :D

Listening to nadda
I've not blogged about it yet! Had a great night, was very cold for the majority of it, got very pissed off waiting for food at the chinese, had chips & cheese in the cafe at the club! Was great to meet all those people in real life! I wish I'd gotten round to talking to more of them, I just did my sitting quietly in the corner thing, we should do another one sooner than this time next year I think, maybe when it's warmer in the spring :)

Listening to not much
The University of Manchester have done some research into the phenomenon of beer goggles, they've drawn up a formula that allows you to calculate the beer goggle effect based on a few criteria, such as the amount you've drunk, your own eyesight and the lighting in the room. Now if someone could wrap that up into a handy device you can hold in your hand so if you think you fancy someone you can just press a button, it could give you a goggle warning, then if your google effect is a bit high it could shine a really bright light in the persons face so you can get a proper look at them!

It's a great scientific break through for all reasonably good looking people, shame for the ugly folk though :(

Well we all know that ugly people look enticing as well after to many drinks, so a gadget like that would be really handy.

Oh and theres 28 other people on your site with me right now just out of interest, that's amazing!!!

Listening to Felix Da Housecat - What does it feel like?
Nasa have broadcast the new Harry Potter film to the crew of the ISS.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/4465760.stm

You know that bit at the start of the film that says it's not to be screened in public or a whole list of other places (that always includes oil rigs for some reason), how long till they add space stations to it?

Listening to Kylie - Come into my world

Ooh, I just got a mention and a link on PlasticBag (a well read UK techie blog) about my TransTraffic thingy whatsit, I've had about 20 sites sign up so far this morning, more than doubling the database. I've looked at a few of them and they haven't actually added the code snippet, maybe they'll get around to it or maybe they just changed their minds.

I'm going to have to do some work on it tonight I think, if it takes off across the blogosphere today I'm going to hit some scalability issues!

Hey there, found your site through PlasticBag and have even added the code snippet :o) I'm looking forward to see how it works and what's really cool is that as I'm typing this I can see my blog showing up in your TransTraffic button...hurrah for gadgety stuff!
mike:
Another Plastic Bagger here. Nice idea, have just installed it, most curious to see what sites it starts turning up.

The fog was thick across Liverpool yesterday. The guys at radio city, in their tower 450 feet above the city centre, took these amazing pictures.

Jane:
They are lovely pictures Jessica. the ones where the ground was totally obscured are reminisent of being in a plane above the clouds.
Lana:
Awesome pics,we get the odd really thick one here but not to bad. Ive been in Italy and seen some really thick ones there, and my one trip to London reminded me of Jack-the -ripper.

Radio City Tower =409 feet tall actually - sorry, size isn't everything - but are you compensating?

Listening to Lemon Jelly - Nice Weather For Ducks
Not long till Christmas now! I've already made a start on my christmas shopping, and I've got a few presents that are almost too cool to give away :) I think shopping for other people is pretty easy and the most fun part, but I always get stuck trying to think of what I want. I usually try and come up with a list of things to send to my family so they can pick a few things off it. So far the only thing on the list is a new oven glove, and maybe a small cheap mp3 player for taking snowboarding (iPods don't like the cold, or the crashing off cliffs!)

Talking of snowboarding, I subscribed to whitelines magazine and they just sent me a free T-Shirt and a really cool multitool thing for tweaking your board while on the mountain!

So what have you asked santa for this year?

Listening to The Cure - Close To Me
Don't you hate it when the news make stupid comparisons to explain things (like a terrabyte).

"Earlier this year, the Motion Picture Association of America said users had swapped films amounting to 99 terabytes in a single day, the equivalent of an entire video rental store."

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/4438680.stm

If a film is compressed in mpeg4 it could be 700mb, that's a rental store with nearly 150,000 dvds in it! If a film is 8gig (a full dual layer dvd) that's still well over 12,000 films, I don't know what kind of video rental places the BBC go to but there's nothing like that round here!

Listening to Chemical Brothers - Close Your Eyes
It's a little over a week away, and I've just realised I haven't dressed for about 3 months! How tragic am I. I've missed the last of the mini skirt weather so I'm going to have to think carefully about what I'm wearing. I quite fancy this dress, but it looks a bit too clingy to give me any figure, and halternecks make my shoulders look broad.

Maybe I'll just sod it and wear a mini anyway! And go back to my first idea of the branded T-Shirt :)

Gorgeous dress, might take a bit longer than a week to get there though
Gemma:
Dear God in heaven, that dress is GORGEOUS. It alone would be reason for being a tranny. I feel faint; overwhelmed with "want, want, want". I know what you mean about clingy, though - :(

Listening to Mylo - Ottos Journey
You know those 'phishing' emails we all get purporting to be from various banks and sometimes ebay, the ones where they ask you to click the link and fill in your security details to help them 'update their database', quite often it's from a bank you've never even heard of.

Well when you get something like that, click the link and fill out the form with some realistic looking fake details. Make up a bank account number etc. Do that a few times. If we fill their database with false details, it'll make it much harder for them to find the real details of the poor fools who fell for it!

It would of course be possible to write a programme to just bombard them with made up details, (which someone has probably done already) but we need to take the intiative to put a stop to these people!

If you want to read about some great ways of getting back at email scammers, have a look at this site http://www.419eater.com, make sure you check out the trophy room!

I've created a new link share/web ring style thingy for all you web mistresses out there! :) On the bottom right of this page you might notice a little counter that says how many people are currently on my website. As the network builds a bit it will start showing other websites that those visitors are looking at. If you want to give it a go on your website just go here:
http://www.just-jessica.com/transtraffic/

I'll also be doing some work to improve the look of it, and make it more customisable, please send me your feedback :)

Listening to Bottle Rocket
Buy CD for £7.95
This album is so cool, if you're into any kind of indie, rock or hip-hop (maybe even ska) then there'll be something on this album for you. It's a real mish mash of styles which might put some people off, they are a live band but also rely heavily on sampling and hip-hop style production. They are compared a lot to The Avalanches because of their happy, up-beat, sample heavy sound, but if I were to try and think of someone more mainstream that they remind me of, I'd say the Gorillaz.

If this album doesn't put a smile on your face on a cold dark November evening, then you need your head checked!

Wikipedia is great, I go there first for looking up anything these days, and if I come across typos and mistakes I always fix them to make my contribution to it all. I've even added the odd new article :)

I just thought that there is one thing I know more about than anyone else, that there isn't a single article about... Me! Would it be wrong of me to add an article about myself to wikipedia? It would be a contribution to the overall wealth of knowledge, and I'm sure there are more mundane things on there than me!

Are you sure you want to go on Wikipedia? Anyone could edit your article!

I can think of a few choice things I could say about you. ;-)
Rachel Williams:
And hey, couldn't we have fun editing a Siobhan entry! Sorry, Jessica, no disrespect but I don't know ya so I couldn't really play with your entry - oh dear, does that sound vaguely rude?

I haven't blogged in a while, I think I'm bored of it already. Maybe I should just scrap the blog thing. The pictures seem popular, I could swap my gallery for the homepage, saves that extra click!

I'm going to bed now, night all.
